We carry hundreds of transfer switches from fully automatic to manual transfer switches. Use them indoors our outdoors. Hundreds to choose from.
Aurora Perkins Generators are available from 9 kVA to 300 kVA in size. Single or Three phase version are available Perkins Generators include enclosures, belly fuel tanks, automatic voltage regulators and built in Automatic Transfer Switches.
The perfect, whole home generator requires no complicated gas hookup or complete electrical panel rewiring. Generators like this work independently and are self contained. Built in fuel tanks, transfer switches and control systems make it easy to install and maintain. Modern diesel engines used today, produce more power, make little noise, and have no visible smoke. People are quickly abandoning the air cooled, fast turning natural gas or propane engines of the past and switching to longer lasting environmentally friendly diesel.
Small diesel generators like these are used when portable power is required. Many use them for emergency backup, on job sites or in remote locations. Since diesel is not as flammable as gasoline, they can often be safely stored in a garage or shed. There are two kinds of portable diesel generators, the open or silenced enclosed type. Aurora builds these portable diesel generators to UL and CSA standards making them superior to others.

Take the enclosure off our very popular 10,000 watt silent diesel generator and you have this less expensive version. This generator uses the same engine, alternator, wiring methods, belly fuel tank and control. Since this generator is no longer weatherproof, many install it under some shelter or place it in a well ventilated garage.
Many other generators this size do not come with a main circuit breaker, battery, belly fuel tank and digital engine controller; this one does. When you receive it, there is very little setup required. Add coolant, lube oil and fuel. Next connect the battery. You can use the included muffler or extend the existing one to vent out of a roof or wall if you wish. You have many installation options.
Many people find portable generators can't produce the extra power they need. Larger standby generators are more expensive than this smaller size one. So this tractor engine driven diesel generator is the next best thing. Slower turning liquid cooled engines are designed to last ten times longer making them a good investment. Unlike portable air cooled engines, these engines can run full time.
Highlights
Installed Glow Plugs
Glow Plugs make starting diesel engines easier in cold weather. Glow plugs are heaters that glow red hot in the intake manifold. Air entering the combustion chamber is heated as it passes through and this aids in fuel atomization and combustion. This generator has glow plugs installed.
Fuel Tank
Built into the base of this generator is a fuel tank. It holds enough fuel for about 24 hours of operation.
The generator panel has an analog gauge showing you how much fuel is left. Also, there is a float type fuel gauge built into the fuel cap itself. Connecting to a larger fuel tank is easy since the fuel pump can work with the fuel supply above or below the pump.

Automatic Voltage Regulator
This generator uses an Auotmatic Voltage Regulator (AVR). Output voltage is regulated to +- 1%. The AVR response time is 20 ms resulting in a very stable output during changing load conditions. On this generator panel, you can also easily change the output voltage. Increase or decrease it as you see fit. The adjustment sell the AVR what voltage it should maintain. This is helpful when you wish to overcome voltage loss in long length of cables back to the house or wish to fine tune it for any reason.

Generator Controller
This generator uses a digital engine controller. The controller is used for automatic up and shut down the generator. Start up can be either by a push of a button or by a switch you can connect for remote use. You can even connect to most Automatic Transfer Switches. The controller monitors the engines temperature, speed and, oil pressure. Also, monitored is the battery charging, generator output voltage and frequency. When the generator is run unattended it will monitor for a fault in one of those monitored inputs and shut down to help prevent any damage. The built in hour meter also help you tell when it is time to change the oil.

Connecting this generator to your home.
The generator panel has a 30 amp 120/240 volt L14-30 type outlet installed in it. If you own an existing portable generator, you will like being able to quickly switch to this one. All you do is plug into it as you would with any other generator. There is even a main circuit breaker to help protect the generator head from overload. Larger terminals inside are for connecting heavier cable too that you would then wire to your home, transfer switch or existing panel.
