We love seeing customer-generator installations. Here is one installed in Miami, Florida. It looks great! The electrician did a really excellent job here.
The generator is sitting on a concrete pad with gravel around it. There is no worry about water collecting around it. It is installed away from any windows while still close to the home for some added protection.
The electrician added a junction box on the outside of the generator. He did this instead of running the wiring up through the bottom. This method is preferred over running it out the bottom. It is not only easier, but it is also accessible should any changes or service be required in the future.
The generator is 20 kW in size and powered by a Perkins diesel engine. It provides enough power to run the whole home.
